Have you thought about heading to the mountains this summer without missing out on water fun?
The mountains offer more pleasant temperatures than the lowlands, the forest provides shade, and the river and waterfalls are wonderfully refreshing and offer beautiful views. In addition, you will find many interesting places and entertainment that you won’t experience anywhere else.
We have prepared an overview of interesting places in the vicinity and countless beautiful waterfalls in the Krkonoše Mountains. Some of them can be reached on foot, others by bike or car.
Walk along the dam
Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy a trip along the Elbe Dam – Špindlerův Mlýn route, which takes about two hours there and back. This route is suitable for parents with small children and mothers with prams, as it is not particularly difficult.
The realm of waterfalls
The Labský důl valley is eight kilometres long and is part of the Krkonoše National Park. At the end of the 19th century, Count Harrach built a road here connecting Špindlerův Mlýn with Labská bouda, known as the Harrachovská cesta. In 1904, he also established the first nature reserve in the Krkonoše Mountains on the northern slope near the cave. What you will definitely enjoy in Labský důl is the Labe waterfall, the largest waterfall in Pančava, Labská rokle (Labská Gorge) and Labské jámy (Labské Pits). The flora is very diverse, including alpine meadows and spruce forests. Near the mine, you will find the Krakonošova klenotnice (Krakonoš’s Treasury) cave.
Tip for a trip
If you are planning to pass through the Labský důl, after climbing Harrachova cesta to Labská bouda, be sure to stop at the source of the Labe River. You can return along the red trail around the Pančavský vodopád waterfall and Mohyla Hanče a Vrbata via Zlaté návrší down to Špindlerův mlýn. The route is 18 kilometres long. And if you are not tied to a specific departure point, you can head to Harrachov to see the Mumlava Waterfalls from Luční Bouda and continue along the blue tourist trail. This very popular route is 19 kilometres long.

Very easy rafting suitable for families with children. Transport to Malá Skála and a subsequent trip down the Jizera River under the supervision of an instructor will give you a nice and relaxing day on the river in the embrace of the Bohemian Paradise Nature Reserve. Relaxation on the water, or how to control the boat and what the river will do to us.
Want to spice up your day even more? We can stop at the Bozkov Caves and see the largest underground lake in Bohemia. Due to their uniqueness, these caves have been declared a National Natural Monument.
Rafting is a full-day programme, lasting from approximately 10:00 to 15:00.
Unusual entertainment
Try something new. Aquazorbing is a very entertaining and unusual experience. Walk on water, try somersaults, spins and tricks you would never dream of doing on land. Bring your family and friends.
How does it work?
You are enclosed in an inflatable ball made of transparent PVC material, which is then inflated and released onto the water.
Safety
Experienced instructors supervise your safety at all times. The ball is waterproof and airtight, and you have enough air inside to last several times longer than the entire activity.
Summer tubing is similar to snow tubing, where you slide down a hill in a specially prepared chute lined with mats.
Not far from the centre of Špindlerův Mlýn, you will find a nearly 200-metre-long trough with several banked turns, where you can have lots of fun. The attraction is suitable for all ages. The youngest children (up to about 3 years old) ride together with their parents, while older children and adults ride alone.
You can get to the start of the toboggan run comfortably seated, as a special tubing lift will take you there. Then you can whizz down on your own.
Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
