Waterfalls within 30 km of Amenity Hotel & Resort Špindlerův Mlýn

Small Elbe waterfall

The small Labský waterfall is more than 5 metres high. It is relatively easy to see and access from the blue tourist trail in Labský důl. The right arm of the waterfall descends gradually at a 60° angle, and when the water level is low, almost all the water flows through it. The left arm of the waterfall is vertical, and when the water level is high, it spreads across the entire width of the waterfall, and both arms almost merge. Below the main waterfall is another waterfall, 3 metres high.

A little higher, 300 metres above the Malý Labský waterfall, is a 2-metre-high waterfall that ends the 350-metre-long cascades of the Elbe.

Pančavský waterfall

Our highest waterfall falls from Pančavská Louka into the Labský důl valley. It is a typical waterfall formed on the side wall of a glacial valley. It reaches a total height of 145 metres, with a total slope of approximately 45°.

The Pančavský waterfall consists of several steps, which are themselves cascading. The waterfall has a relatively complicated profile. The steps have (from top to bottom) heights of 36, 40, 23 and 20 metres.

Waterfall Vysoké strouhy

Autor obrázku Vlastimil Pilous

The waterfall on Vysoká strouha falls from the left bank directly into the Dolský (Svatopeterský) stream. It is therefore clearly visible from the right bank from the Lenka hotel, where the road runs. The waterfall is relatively high – 10.5 metres – but its attractiveness is reduced by its small overall slope, due to its cascading shape, and mainly by the small amount of water.

Waterfalls of the White Elbe

autor Vlastimil Pilous

Together with the Labe and Mumlava rivers, the Bílé Labe is one of the wildest and most water-rich rivers in the Krkonoše Mountains. A blue tourist trail runs along it, from which most of the waterfalls and cascades are relatively easily accessible.

Kozelský waterfall

Autor: aleš tauchman (pořízeno 13. 11. 2015)

There is a 3.5-metre-high waterfall on the Kozelský potok stream, through which a considerable amount of water flows. Paradoxically, however, it stands out better when the water level is lower, as the structure of the rock bed is more visible.

Cascade of Dolský stream

The Dolský or Svatopetrský stream flows over a solid rock block at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level, creating a striking 4-metre-high cascade. This is further enhanced by the accumulation of stones at the upper edge.

The waterfalls are at their most spectacular in late April and early May, when the snow melts. Throughout the year, the activity of the waterfalls depends on the amount of rainfall.

Our guide will be happy to advise you on which waterfalls are worth visiting and where to go for beautiful experiences and unique sights.
